The profession of physiotherapy involves the use of specific evaluation methods unique to physiotherapy following a diagnosis by a specialized physician for any injury, illness, or aging that leads to movement disorders, as well as in cases of pain and functional impairments. It equips individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and implement treatment approaches, many of which have been developed by physiotherapists worldwide. This profession plays a significant role in enhancing health and quality of life. To practice as a physiotherapist, one must complete a four-year undergraduate program in physiotherapy, and the diploma must be approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey. Graduates can continue their education to obtain titles such as science specialist, doctorate, associate professor, or professor. In recent years, physiotherapists in developed countries have seen their roles expand to include preventive physiotherapy and public health approaches, contributing to health improvement and disease prevention. Through these practices, they have become an integral part of the health goals for everyone. Employment opportunities for physiotherapists are available in various fields of medicine. Our department has 12 academic staff members, including 2 professors, 3 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, and 5 teaching staff. Additionally, there is a Master's and Doctorate Program in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
