Academic Counseling for Students

Advisor Assignments are announced on our department's website.

Students and their assigned faculty advisors can hold individual or group meetings through advising sessions.

Advising activities are monitored through the student portfolio. To improve the academic advising system, advising is conducted in small groups.

The responsibilities of the faculty member providing academic advising and the students receiving advising are outlined below.

Advisor Responsibilities:

a) The Academic Advisor is responsible for assisting students in planning their education, guiding them on academic, social, and cultural matters, and helping create an appropriate environment for the overall development of the student's personality in mental, social, and emotional aspects.

b) To follow the regulations related to education, including Süleyman Demirel University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, directives, senate decisions, university board decisions, and departmental board decisions.

c) To finalize course registrations by approving the courses students have registered, added, or dropped each academic year/semester, to assist in course selection processes, and to submit the relevant documents to the Student Affairs unit.

Student Responsibilities:

a) To be aware of the university's relevant regulations and guidelines regarding their rights and responsibilities and to act accordingly.

b) To complete course registration through the Student Information System (OBS) in accordance with Süleyman Demirel University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations within the timeframes specified in the "Academic Calendar," and to contact their academic advisor to obtain "Course Selection Approval" once the course selection is completed.

c) To notify their academic advisor and the "Department Student Affairs Unit" of any changes related to their contact information.

d) To discuss any issues or share any concerns with their advisor during the scheduled meeting days and times announced.

e) To apply to their advisor within the first week of the semester to enroll in extracurricular activities, if applicable.

f) The student is fully responsible for the course registration renewal process.
