The quality of life of hemodialysis patients is increasing with the social contribution project titled “Strategies to Strengthen Physical and Mental Health During Hemodialysis: Rhythm of Life” carried out by Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Health Sciences.
The project, which was carried out under the coordination of the Social Contribution and Stakeholders Coordination Office and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sıddıka Ersoy, a faculty member of the Nursing Department of our University's Faculty of Health Sciences, aims to improve the symptom management of hemodialysis patients, increase their compliance with treatment and improve their quality of life.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersoy, who emphasized that the project is also important in terms of increasing social awareness, said, “We are implementing “game”, “art therapy”, “exercise” and “music” based applications in order to support the physical and mental well-being of patients during the hemodialysis process. With these applied methods, we aim to ensure that patients go through the dialysis process more efficiently and comfortably, while also developing innovative strategies for managing symptoms. Another goal of ours is to raise awareness among hemodialysis patients and health professionals about the importance of therapies that can be applied during hemodialysis.”
