About Us
The Department of Nursing first started education and training in 1994 within Isparta Vocational School of Health Services. Later, it continued its education process in Isparta School of Health, which was opened in 1996, and since 2009, it has been continuing its education and training process within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The mission of our department is to train researcher, educator, practitioner, manager and leader nurses who can evaluate the health care needs of the country in line with contemporary approaches, provide health-promoting, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care to individuals, families and society with qualified undergraduate and graduate education programs. The vision of our department is to be an educational institution that educates creative and reliable nurses who can use the requirements of nursing science and art at the highest level in meeting the health care of the society with its students, academic staff, educational programs and researches, which are modeled and preferred at national and international level. Each year of undergraduate programs in Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department consists of two semesters. One semester is 14 weeks. Our faculty also has a summer school program. Students who successfully complete the 4-year undergraduate program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree and the title of Nurse. The philosophy of our department focuses on the beliefs and principles that form the basis for providing a holistic approach to the family, community and individual, which envisages cooperation with other members of the health team. There are 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 9 Assistant Professors, 5 Lecturers and 10 Research Assistants in our department. In addition, there is a Master's Program in the Department of Nursing Fundamentals, a Master's Program in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing, a Master's Program in the Department of Surgical Nursing, a Master's Program in the Department of Public Health Nursing, a Master's Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, and a Master's and Doctorate Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing.
