Leave Stress Behind, Eat Well, Breathe, Be Mindful" Event Held
Within the Faculty of Health Sciences, an event titled "Leave Stress Behind, Eat Well, Breathe, Be Mindful" was held on April 10, 2025, under the leadership of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, to raise awareness for Health Week. Organized as part of the “Sports-Friendly Campus Events,” the program commenced with opening speeches by Prof. Dr. Ferdi Başkurt, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliye Kuyumcu, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The event aimed to draw attention to physical and mental well-being, which is often neglected amidst the fast pace of daily life. Topics covered included strategies for coping with stress, healthy nutrition recommendations, breathing techniques, and mindfulness-based practices. The program was conducted interactively and attracted significant student participation.
As part of the event, the following presentations were delivered:
"Stress Control: The Hidden Balance on Your Plate" by Dr. Müberra Yıldız, Research Assistant from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics,
"Finding a Moment of Peace in This Crazy World: Stress Management Through Mindfulness" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Aşık from the Department of Nursing,
"The Path to Mental Balance: Overcoming Stress Through Yoga and Breathing" by Research Assistant Pınar Yaşar from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
