Message from our Department Head

Dear students, thank you for choosing us for your nursing career. As a department, our mission is to train nurses who can evaluate the health care needs of the country in line with contemporary approaches, improve individual, family and community health, provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care, researcher, educator, practitioner, manager and leader by adopting the philosophy of lifelong learning with qualified undergraduate and graduate education programs. In order to achieve this mission, we have determined our vision to be an educational institution that is a model and preferred at national and international level with its students, faculty members, educational programs and researches; training creative and reliable nurses who can use the requirements of nursing science and art at the highest level to meet the health care of the society.
Nursing encompasses care based on autonomy and cooperation for the purpose of protecting and improving the health and well-being of individuals of all ages, families, groups and society in all environments and for healing in case of illness. Providing all these qualities is only possible by creating an environment where these qualities can develop.
Our department, with its qualified academic staff, offers evidence-based, up-to-date, multidisciplinary theoretical and practical vocational education according to class status. In addition, our students graduate with an experience consisting entirely of clinical practice in the last semester of their education life. Our students are trained in accordance with the standards of the Nursing undergraduate education program of HEPDAK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education Programs), which contributes to the transformation of health services and health promotion of nurses by improving the quality of nursing education in Turkey. Accreditation studies are ongoing in our department.
Our undergraduate program is organized according to the 2022 version of the Nursing National Core Education Program (HUÇEP), which was prepared in line with European criteria and accepted by YÖK.
In addition to the professional education of our students, their development in the social field is also important, initiatives are taken to enrich their education processes with student communities, social responsibility projects, civil society participation, culture and art activities, sports activities, on and off campus activities, and they are supported in participating in these activities. Our students are encouraged to participate in scientific research and activities and are provided with the necessary academic support for the organization of these activities.
Our graduates can work as nurses as clinicians, educators or managers in public and private health institutions, universities, healthy living and home care centers, rehabilitation centers, schools, quality and accreditation institutions and research and development centers in all areas where preventive, developmental, therapeutic and rehabilitative health services are provided in Turkey and abroad with their professional equipment. In addition, our graduates can specialize by taking postgraduate education in their fields of interest and can work as academicians in universities.
We firmly believe that you will be trained as role model nurses in our department, who are committed to professional ethical values, who can not only adapt to technological developments but also realize such initiatives themselves, with the holistic care you offer, and that you will serve a healthier society and a stronger nursing profession after graduation.
